find a wealth of information, not only about the NRA, but current firearms news, firearms
research, federal, state, and local affairs, a detailed summary of the firearms laws in
all 50 states, and a list of all federal and state legislators with an e-mail link to
write to them. Check it out. We also strongly encourage you to join the
NRA. There’s strength in numbers, and it’s vitally important that those of
us who enjoy the shooting sports and gun collecting speak as one voice against the
mindless onslaught of state and federal gun control legislation that does nothing to
reduce crime.
The election of George
Bush as our president will hopefully put the brakes on any more senseless gun legislation
for at least the next four years. In addition, the appointment of John Ashcroft, a staunch
supporter of the Second Amendment, as our Attorney General will also put an end to the
stormtrooper enforcement tactics of Janet Reno and her lunatic, liberal cronies.
Nevertheless, we must not get complacent. Pay attention to all proposed gun law
legislation as shown on our Gun Law Watchlist page. We try to
keep this current so that you know what’s going on out there. We also urge you to
join and support the NRA and register to vote. If there was ever an election that proved
every vote counts it was this one. If only a few hundred Bush supporters had stayed home
we’d now have Al Gore as our president, another four years of Janet Reno, and no way
to control the endless flow of gun legislation out of the Congress. This time we won. Now
let’s hold onto it! |
